Hunters

D ue to the secretive nature of this organization we cannot reveal the identities of any of the local hunters. Not only would revealing so put their lives in jeapordy, but it would also put the fate of humanity at risk. We can, however, give some information about some of the more famous hunters from around the world. They not only do not mind that their identity is revealed but they relish it because it makes their job much easier because many a hotshot vampire will go out of their way to track down these hunters. Here are a few of them:

While this business takes up a lot of their time, especially having to protect their store from petty thievery, it gives them the opportunity to inform the community in general as to the existence of vampires. They do this through the stocking of comic books that deal with the subject. When they are not running their shop they are either fighting vampires or out giving lectures to the public on the dangers of the undead. They are particularly popular at comic book and sci-fi conventions. The Frog Brothers were first made famous in the documentary titled The Lost Boys. This documentary was made in 1987 and was quite popular with many mortals.

image from http://www.allposters.comB uffy Anne Summers, often referred to by just her first name, is one of the most famous living hunters. She resides in the city of Sunnydale, California, where she first started hunting vampires in 1993 while she was a high school student. While a student at Sunnydale High she was the leader of a small Hunt Club that was mentored by the school librarian, Rupert Giles. Together with her friends Willow Rosenberg, Cordelia Chase, Xander Harris, "Oz," and a few others they were a force to be reckoned with. They are still an active hunting group, but due to a 1992 documentary and a 7 year long reality TV show very few vampires will go within 100 miles of Sunnydale. On a dark note it was rumored for a while that Buffy was in fact lenient with some vampires and may have actuall been working with a few undead. Most experts believe that this was merely creative licensing on the part of the director of the reality TV show in order to generate ratings.

http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/ A braham Van Helsing is no longer among the living but he deserves mention because he was one of the first persons to recognize the true nature of vampires and was the first to actually stand up for humanity. He was a tireless hunter who devoted his entire life to the eradication of the undead from the face of the Earth in general and Eastern Europe in specific. Van Helsing's tactics at hunting vampires are still in use today, as are the designs of some of the equipment that he developed to aid him in his battle. It was a sad day indeed for humanity when Van Helsing succumbed to old age and finally departed this mortal world. His memory will forever live on, both in the minds of grateful hunters and in the nightmares of some vampires who narrowly escaped Van Helsing's deadly sights.
